چکیده
The investigations of bubble formation dynamics at a cross-junction in straight milli-channel were reported. process could be divided into the filling and squeezing stages, their frequencies compared various conditions. It was found that controlled mainly by gas liquid superficial velocities, respectively. related to gas-liquid velocity ratios, length. then analyzed considering length finger right after pinch-off. Two patterns identified depending on whether pinch-off occurred inside or not. transition between these two described critical Capillary number. Furthermore, dripping distinguished as fully block channel transitions determined Weber number Finally, length, slug normalized unit cell all predicted based ratios η0.

Theoretical Analysis of Bubble Formation in a Co-Flowing Liquid
A realistic non-spherical model for bubble formation in a co-flowing liquid is presented. In the model, an interfacial element approach is applied to describe the dynamics of bubble formation. The effect of flowing liquid velocity is modeled by a combination of the bubble axis translation and liquid pressure analysis of each interfacial element. The bubble shapes during formation are predicted ...
متن کاملBubble behavior in a Taylor vortex.
We present a study on the behavior of air bubbles captured in a Taylor vortex formed in the annulus between two concentric cylinders. It is found that small bubbles stay either at certain locations near the vortex cores or in the outflow regions along the inner cylinder. If bubbles of the same size are introduced, a variety of bubble structures (such as ring, chain, cluster, etc.) appear due to...
متن کاملA 3d Cfd Numerical Study of the Bubble Generation Process into a Bubble T-junction Generator and Its Comparison with Experimental Data: Part I
This work presents a 3D numerical study of the bubble generation process into a bubble generator obtained with the commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics solver ANSYS Fluent v15.0.7, and its comparison with experimental data reproducing the same conditions [1]. The bubble generator is formed by two perpendicular capillaries in which liquid and gas are injected at perpendicular directions into ...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Scaling Effect on Bubble Dynamics in a Turbulent Flow around a Hydrofoil
A Lagrangian-Eulerian numerical scheme for the investigation of bubble motion in turbulent flow is developed. The flow is analyzed in the Eulerian reference frame while the bubble motion is simulated in the Lagrangian one. Finite volume scheme is used, and SIMPLEC algorithm is utilized for the pressure and velocity linkage. The Reynolds stresses are modeled by the RSTM model of Launder. Upwind ...
